Switzerland's longest passenger train

A Swiss railway firm claimed the title for the world's longest passenger train Saturday.

Rhaetian Railway conducted the 100-coach, 1.9-kilometer train from Preda to Berguen via the Albula/Bernina line.

The UNESCO World Heritage road passes through 22 tunnels, some spiraling into mountains, and 48 bridges...

... notably the curving Landwasser Viaduct.

Over an hour passed. Rail fans crowded the valley to witness the 25-section train travel through the Alps.

Rhaetian Railway director Renato Fasciati said the record attempt aimed to mark 175 years of Swiss railroads.
